How Do I Keep My Enclosed Trailer Cover From Tearing on Corners

Question:

I purchased you trailer cover twice and it rarely lasts 2 yrs.....as you can see from the photo, the front of the trailer has sharp edges on rooftop and sides which eventually tear the cover. Do you offer a cover that would not tear so easily? thank you

Helpful Expert Reply:

A lot of covers, like the Adco SFS AquaShed Cover for Bumper Pull Trailer - Up to 14' Long - Gray # 290-46003 you purchased, will typically have some type of reinforcement at those common tear points but if your trailer has sharp edges then it will eventually tear through like what you've experienced.

The best way we've found to combat this is by putting a buffer between the cover an the sharp point on the trailer. A lot of people will use a pool noodle because it's cheap and easy to cut how you want to use it.

I know this probably isn't the news you wanted to hear but I don't know of a cover or other specific tool that prevents tearing on sharp corners like what you have.
